About Lok Adalat
A Lok Adalat (people’s court) is a sitting organised by the Legal Services Authorities to settle cases by agreement, including many traffic challans.
National Lok Adalats are held across India several times a year on dates announced by NALSA, and state and district authorities can hold extra sittings.
Not every challan is eligible. Serious offences, such as drunk driving, usually have to go through the regular court.
Questions about Noida challans
How do I pay my Noida e-challan online?
Search your vehicle number on DigiChallan. You see each challan with its offence and amount, and can pay in full straight away or choose a discounted Lok Adalat settlement.
Can Expressway camera challans be settled through Lok Adalat?
Many can. Challans issued within Gautam Buddh Nagar district, including those from Expressway cameras, can go to Lok Adalat through an advocate enrolled in the district. You see the options for each challan.
Why does my challan say Gautam Buddh Nagar instead of Noida?
Noida and Greater Noida are both in Gautam Buddh Nagar district, which is the name used for courts and legal purposes. It is the right district for a Noida challan.
How much can I save on a Noida challan?
It depends on the challan amount and the discount that applies, but Smart Pay can save up to 50% of the fine. You see the exact amount before you confirm.
I live in Delhi but got a challan in Noida. Can I settle it here?
Yes. The challan is handled where the offence happened, in Gautam Buddh Nagar. You can check and settle it online from anywhere.
