Terms & Conditions
Last updated: November 4, 2026 · Applies to digichallan.in and the DigiChallan platform, operated by Trustbyte Technologies
1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of DigiChallan, a platform operated by Trustbyte Technologies ("DigiChallan", "we", "us", "our"), a business registered in India and registered under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime. By creating an account or using DigiChallan in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. What DigiChallan is (and is not)
DigiChallan lets vehicle owners look up traffic challans (e-challans) issued under Indian motor vehicle law and settle them either by paying the full amount, or through a discounted settlement facilitated via the Lok Adalat process with the help of an independent, empanelled advocate.
DigiChallan is a technology facilitator/intermediary, not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice, and nothing on this platform constitutes legal advice. Case representation before the Lok Adalat or any other forum is carried out entirely by independent advocates empanelled on the platform, who are responsible for their own professional conduct, advice, and representation. Your relationship with an allocated advocate for the purpose of legal representation is separate from your relationship with us.
DigiChallan.in is a private service and is not affiliated with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Delhi Traffic Police, or any other government authority. We are an independent, privately-operated platform that checks your vehicle against real, live challan records and facilitates payment/settlement on your behalf — we do not issue challans, and we are not a government website.
3. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872 to use DigiChallan. You are responsible for providing accurate information (including vehicle numbers and contact details), keeping your login credentials confidential, and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
4. Payments, fees, and refunds
• Challan amounts shown are based on publicly available e-challan records at the time of lookup and may change; we are not responsible for discrepancies in government records.
• Payments are collected via UPI (Unified Payments Interface) directly to our UPI ID. A platform fee, shown before you pay, is added to cover processing and service costs.
• Because payments are made directly to us and not through a card/gateway with automatic reconciliation, you must submit your UPI transaction reference (UTR) after paying; our team manually verifies each payment against our bank statement before the challan status is updated.
• Smart Pay (Lok Adalat): if a challan is found ineligible for Lok Adalat, or cannot be settled there, you may choose either (a) a full refund of the amounts you paid for that challan, including the platform fee, processed within 7 working days; or (b) to pay the difference and have the challan cleared at the full amount.
• Other payments, once verified and processed, are non-refundable, except where we are unable to complete the service due to an error on our part, or as required under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and its e-commerce rules. Refund requests may be raised with our Grievance Officer (Section 11). Full details: Refund & Cancellation Policy and Service Delivery Policy.
• Lok Adalat settlement amounts and timelines depend on court/authority schedules and are outside our control; we will keep you informed of case progress through the platform.
5. Lok Adalat settlement mode
If you choose Lok Adalat settlement, you authorise us to allocate your challan to an empanelled advocate practising in the relevant district for the purpose of presenting it before the Lok Adalat. You remain the person legally responsible for the underlying challan; the advocate acts on your behalf based on the information you provide. Outcomes (including the discounted amount, if any) are determined by the Lok Adalat/competent authority and are not guaranteed by DigiChallan.
6. Advocates on the platform
Advocates empanelled on DigiChallan must provide accurate identity (Aadhaar/PAN), enrolment, and bank details for verification and payout, and are responsible for the professional and ethical conduct of their case representation in accordance with the Advocates Act, 1961 and Bar Council rules. Payouts to advocates are processed after the corresponding customer payment is verified and any applicable case requirements are met.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the platform for any unlawful purpose; attempt to access another user's account or data; submit false vehicle, identity, or payment information; interfere with or disrupt the platform's operation or security; or use automated means to scrape or misuse platform data. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
8. Intellectual property
The DigiChallan name, logo, website design, and underlying software are the property of Trustbyte Technologies and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without our prior written consent. Challan and case data belongs to you and/or the relevant government authority, as applicable.
9. Limitation of liability
DigiChallan is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted under Indian law, Trustbyte Technologies shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, for errors in government-sourced challan data, for delays or outcomes in Lok Adalat proceedings, or for the independent professional conduct of empanelled advocates. Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to us for the specific transaction giving rise to the claim.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of DigiChallan shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts at Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, India.

These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
